ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is waiting for ailing Sindh Governor Saeeduzaman Siddiqui, sources disclosed.

They also said Nawaz did not consult the Sindh government, adding he also did not seek an intelligence report before appointing the governor.

Nawaz has been advised to change the governor as his health is deteriorating. However, the PM is not in a mood to remove his “blue-eyed” man, sources added. They also said Nawaz did not want to sack the governor, but he wanted Siddiqui to resign.

Sources claimed that if the governor did not recover then he may resign.

Rumours run riot in the power echelons that the government would appoint Mushahidullah Khan as the next governor to give a tough time to the People’s Party in Sindh. The names of Senator Nehal Hashmi, Saleem Zia and Lieutenant General (r) Tariq Waseem Ghazi are also under consideration.
