KAMPALA: The bodies of 51 unidentified victims of fierce fighting in a local kingdom in Uganda’s restive Kasese region, were buried in a mass funeral ceremony on Sunday, officials said.

According to Kasese district official, Geoffrey Sibendire Bigogo Almost 90 people were killed in the fighting between security forces and guards of a tribal monarch.

“No relatives turned up to claim the bodies. It was extremely painful but we had no way out,” he told AFP.
