ECP reserves verdict in Tareen’s disqualification case till 15

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday reserved verdict in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen’s disqualification case till December 15.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan denied all the allegations and submitted a reply that revealed that his Bani Gala residence was purchased after taking loan from Jemima.In a reply, it was also mentioned that Jemima’s loan was paid by selling London flat.

Meanwhile, the chief election commissioner (CEC) expressed resentment over forwarding reference against Tareen without evidence. The plaintiff’s lawyer urged the authorities to summon record submitted by Tareen in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on which the CEC said that the ECP did not ask you to file reference.

Subsequently, ECP adjourned the hearing till mid of December. Moreover, the PTI and government leaders continued bashing each other outside commission.

Earlier, Khan submitted reply in Supreme Court over Hanif Abbasi’s allegations pertaining to ownership of offshore companies. He assured that asset details were not misrepresented and termed accusations against him as baseless.
