Customs take effective measures to foil smuggling bids at Sialkot Airport

SIALKOT: Collector Customs Ahmad Raza Khan’s special measures to curb currency and gold smuggling attempts from the Sialkot International Airport have been lauded.

These measures include deployment of extra staff at arrival and departure lounges, VIP lounges, luggage checking and scanning, body searches of suspected passengers and checks at the canteen.

Besides that, a counter has been established to guide the departing passengers and is also where currency declaration is done. Collector Ahmad Raza has also directed to enhance the Customs staff in order to keep vigilance of all incoming and outgoing routes of the airport.

A meeting was also held in light of the new measures by Additional Collectors Customs Faiz Ali and Ali Mohtashim Minhas with the airport staff and officials of the Airport Security Force (ASF).
