ISLAMABAD: General Zhao Zongqi, commander of China’s People’s Liberation Army, visited the General Headquarters on Monday and called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa.
General Zhao congratulated Gen Bajwa on assuming the command of the Pakistan Army. During the meeting, matters related to regional security and professional interest were discussed. The visiting general lauded the Pakistan Army’s achievements in war against terrorism and continued efforts for regional peace and stability, ISPR spokesman said in a statement.
Gen Bajwa reaffirmed the army’s unwavering support for CPEC security. Earlier on arrival a smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.
