ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday condemned an early morning terror attack in Loralai in which three suicide bombers were shot dead after the security forces successfully repulsed the attack.
“When members of banned outfits will be ministers in a country, then how can terrorism ever be eliminated? No one will believe that ‘Naya Pakistan’ is sincere about its war against terrorism,” Bilawal claimed.
Bilawal has been a vocal critic of the incumbent government’s first federal budget. The PPP chairperson said that the All Parties Conference (APC) scheduled for Wednesday would give “good news to the nation”.
Speaking to the media outside the Parliament House PPP Chairman said, “The production orders of some members of the Parliament have still not been issued. It is the right of every member to attend the budget session.”
Leaders of some opposition parties have refrained from attending APC. The meeting is expected to deliberate over an anti-government protest campaign.
“I will try to attend the budget session and the APC. I will also raise the issue of missing persons in the meeting. However, all the decisions will be made for the betterment of the country,” added Bilawal.
“MNAs [Members of the National Assembly] from the tribal region should have been a part of the budget session. If the production orders of Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir are not issued, it will set a wrong precedent,” Bilawal said.
“The PPP under protest is attending the budget session. What message is the government sending to the people of FATA? Every child stood against terrorism, peoples businesses were destroyed and lives were lost. Today these people can’t take part in the budget,” Bilawal said.
The PPP chairman further said, “Those who come through the back door are always worried. Akhtar Mengal has serious issues and if those are not resolved he will not vote on the budget.”
“The PPP had announced it will oppose the budget. The budget is the enemy of the people and we reject it. This budget is being passed through cheating. Neither Zia-ul-Haq not Pervez Mushraff did this,” Bilawal added.
