LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has retrieved 16 plots worth millions of rupees and also demolished seven illegal under-construction houses during an operation in a private housing scheme of the metropolis here on Tuesday.
According to the authority’s officials, the LDA Directorate of Estate Management-2 carried out an operation against land grabbers in Gujjarpura Housing Scheme and retrieved 16 plots from illegal occupation.
Operation was carried out in block A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and B-3 in the premises of Gujjarpura Housing Scheme. Heavy machinery, enforcement staff and local area police participated in the operation.
Separately, Town Planning Wing of the authority demolished seven illegal under construction sites over violation of building bylaws in Pak-Arab Housing Scheme. According to LDA officials, all constructions were illegal and they did not get approved the house’s maps from the LDA.
A spokesman for the LDA Tuesday said that the department had directed people several times to get their maps approved by the LDA but they were not taking it seriously.
He said operation would be continued against responsible persons in across the city would fail to comply with the rules set by the authority.
