LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari predicted that the next general elections would be held in 2017 before its due time and hinted at making a progressive alliance with opposition parties to come to power.

Bilawal was addressing a post foundation day press conference at his residence at Bilawal House in Bahria Town on Wednesday. Later, he visited Senator Aitzaz Ahsan’s residence and held a party meeting for formation of the PPP’s Lahore chapter organisation.

Addressing the media, Bilawal was determined that he would succeed in establishing a government in the centre and all four provinces after winning the general elections next year. The PPP Chairman confirmed that he had already chalked out his protest strategy for the “Long March” against the rulers that would be announced on December 27 this year but such strategy could not be public like Imran Khan’s was. He said it would be shared with the media at right time.

He complained that judiciary had dual parameters for the Bhuttos and their party—the PPP – and the other (right wing) parties. He said that the laws implemented against the PPP’s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to sack him were not being applied in the Panama Leaks case against the sitting PM Nawaz Sharif.

Bilawal further stated that if a PPP leader was involved in the Panama Leaks case, he should be hanged to death today. He also said that his party was never given a fair chance in elections. Bilawal also said that he was the son of a martyr but no justice was given to him.

Showing some softness in politics, Bilawal also confirmed query that he was ready to work together with all parties if their cause and mission against terrorism was identical. He said that they believed in supremacy of the parliament and wanted democratic accountability of the rulers. The PPP Chairman also confirmed that he would stay permanently in Lahore to give a tough time to rulers through his long march from January next year.

All the provincial and local leadership including Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chann, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Chaudhry Manzoor, Ch Munawar Anjum, Faisal Mir, Naveed Chaudhry, Khurram Farooq, Napoleon Qayyum and others were also present on this occasion.
