Chaklala cantt board falls behind revenue target

The Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) has failed to meet the revenue target despite that the financial year is about to end. The Public body is likely to face loss of millions due to the poor performance of the land revenue department this year.

Sources privy to the development said, the land revenue department of Chaklala Cantonment Board has failed to collect the pending dues of about 5.2 million rupees from the Shop Board contractor Malik Kamran, while 1.2 million in favor of income tax are also pending toward the said contractor.

Moreover, more than 9 lac rupees are also pending toward the contractor of the slaughter house and millions of rupees are pending toward the contractor of Car Parking Outside Heart International Hospital. The contractor of the Office canteen has also fled without paying the rent of past four months, while rent collection of million rupees is also pending from Panorama Centre owned by the CCB, sources added. Sources further revealed that the financial year will end on June 30 and all the said contracts will also over with the end of the financial year. The public body will likely face a loss of million due to the poor performance of land revenue department.

The sources went to say that the land revenue department was assigned to collect the revenue of 25 million rupees in favor of house tax this month but the department is also failed to meet the assigned target. When contacted the Superintendent of Land Revenue Department Zohaib Zafar said, that advance security cheque of 2.5 million is already provided by the contractor Malik Kamran, “If he did not pay the pending due we will cash the cheque”, he added. Zohaib refused to comment on the question regarding the other pending dues.
