The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday stopped the Revenue Department from dismissing employees. A two-member bench of SHC, headed by Justice Aqeel Abbasi, heard a petition filed by Hameer Bhatti and others against the Revenue Department for not regularising the jobs of hundreds of employees. The bench sought a reply from the Sindh chief secretary and Revenue Department secretary. The petitioner stated that over 600 employees of anti-encroachment cell, working under the Revenue Department, had not been regularised. He said that they had been recruited in 2011. “The employees have been working on contract basis till now. However, the authorities are trying to dismiss us. Under the law, all employees recruited in 2011 should be confirmed now,” the petition stated.
