Police kill Lyari gangster in an encounter

KARACHI: The Police have killed one suspect in an alleged police encounter in Karachi’s downtown area in Lyari town, on early dawn Wednesday.

According to DSP Zahid Hussain, Bilal alias Bhaiya, wanted in at least 100 criminal cases, including murder and attempt to murder, was killed in a police shootout at Gao Gudam area of Lyari. He further added that narcotics and weapons were found from the deceased.

The head money on Bilal was Rs 1.5 million and he was involved in more than 50 murders, claimed police.

“The suspect was affiliated with the Uzair Baloch gang and his three associates, Mullah Sohail, Yousuf Pathan and Rehan Pathan managed to flee from the spot during the operation, claimed DSP Hussain In another operation in New Karachi’s sector 11, police arrested two alleged fraudsters. The detained suspects used to scam people by claiming to be law enforcement officials . Weapons, fake police uniforms and money has been were recovered from them.

In Gadap near superhighway, at least two activists of a banned outfit were apprehended by Sindh Rangers in a targeted operation.
