National cricket team observes minute of silence for PK661 victims

Pakistan cricket team observed a minute of silence for the plane crash victims on Thursday before the start of their warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI.

A Pakistan International Airline ATR aircraft crashed in Havaliyan on Wednesday on its way to Islamabad from Chitral, killing all 47 people onboard.

The national side is playing a three-day pink-ball side match in Cairns, Australia before the three-Test match series against Australia which begins on Thursday.

Pakistan’s openers Sami Aslam (10 off 23) and Azhar Ali (23 off 64) put up a 21-run stand. Number three Babar Azam scored 16 out of 40 balls before departing in the 19th over.

The Australian cricket board named an unchanged squad from their last Test at Adelaide against South Africa. The Steven Smith-led Kangaroos finally broke the losing streak in the day-night affair and registered a comprehensive seven-wicket win.
