ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iran have agreed to initiate joint ventures for the promotion of library sector to revive book reading culture among students.
In this regard, Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Hunardost paid a visit to National Library in Islamabad and held detailed discussion with the Chairman National Library Syed Ghayur Hussain.
During his visit, Iranian ambassador visited different sections in the library and expressed keen interest in some specific sections, a news release issued here Thursday said.
Speaking on the occasion, he said Pakistan and Iran could promote cultural and knowledge sharing sectors. Both sides agreed to have an agreement about cooperation in the said sectors.
Ambassador proposed allocation of an Iran specific section in the library to further enlighten Pakistanis about Iranian culture and knowledge. The Chairman National Library welcomed the proposal and expressed his full inclination to extend all-out cooperation in this regard.
