Wife of Boxer Amir Khan, Model Faryal Makhdoom Khan, said that she will not be silenced over her claims of being ‘bullied’ by her husband’s family, insisting that the boxing champion stands by her side.

Faryal Makhdoom Khan, who was married to the boxing champion in 2013, launched an astonishing Snapchat rant, accusing her in-laws of trying to destroy her and Khan’s marriage. The 25-year-old model and make-up artist even claimed that in her husband’s absence, her ‘evil, hating sister-in-law’ Mariyah came to hit her.

However Mariyah, who is a university student according to social media, responded to the allegations by saying, “Do I look like I can beat someone up?”

After Khan’s family’s responses, Faryal broke her silence again, claiming that she wants to ‘break stereotypes and reshape conversation’ around the ill-treatment of women by their in-laws. She also thanked her ‘supportive’ husband after the bombshell claims. Khan has not spoken publicly about his wife’s allegations but he is known to be very close to his family.

Posting on her Facebook page, she wrote, “There are many women who suffer in silence. We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, to make sure women’s voices are heard and not overlooked and ignored. I am every abused woman’s voice and I am grateful for my husband’s support throughout my ordeal.”

In the messages, Faryal, who made her catwalk debut on Monday, wrote, “Don’t get your sons married if you’re going to abuse and bully the wife. I’ve always been quiet but this message is for everyone! When you bring someone’s daughter – treat her as your own. Your son will be much happier and so will you.”

Using the Snapchat name Faryalxmakhdoom, she continued, “When you force your son to divorce his wife, when she’s nine months pregnant!!! And your son doesn’t and he sticks besides her. He’s called a *****? Ok, I’m guessing Islam teaches us to get married and divorce our wives and treat them bad???”

Faryal did not name anyone, but endorsed comments by her followers which suggested it related to her in-laws. She also shared a screenshot of her sister-in-law laughing at a comment that suggested Faryal should be on the ‘dogwalk’ rather than the catwalk.

Faryal added, “What have I actually done, been a good wife to your brother. I worked on a catwalk from 7 am till 12 am. My husband’s a millionaire but I still work as I can never touch his blood money, when I have every right too!”

Mariyah then fired back four messages of her own, in one she said that she didn’t need to justify herself on social media as Allah is watching.

“Do I look like I can beat someone up,” she said, posting a selfie on Snapchat with floral garland filter. Haroon, Khan’s brother, also had a say, posting on Twitter, “The world knows how good the khan family is #saynomore.”

Faryal later retweeted messages from her supporters, who praised her for standing up to the family. Amir Khan always has always spoken openly about his close relationship with his family.

Faryal also spoke about her relationship with Khan openly, admitting she had a rough patch when she first moved to the United Kingdom, but that the pair were ‘the happiest ever’ now. Earlier this year, Khan and Faryal spent £100,000 on a lavish second birthday party for their daughter.

Faryal’s representatives said that she did not wish to comment.
