CTP decides to take action against vehicles using blue lights

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the Capital Territory Police (CTP) has decided to take action against vehicles using blue revolving light in the city.

Credible sources said that this initiative was decided in an important meeting of safe city police officials convened by SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiyani. In the meeting, all the Station House Officers (SHOs) and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) were directed to impound all vehicles and motorcycles using blue revolving lights in police stations and submit report within three days.

The meeting also imposed ban on use of blue revolving light on vehicles by parliamentarians and police officials after duty timings. It was also reviewed in the meeting to shift such vehicle in police station immediately after tracing it through crackdown launched with the assistance of safe city.

It is worth-mentioning here that few months earlier; interior minister had ordered to take action against vehicles using blue revolving light illegally which was not implemented by CTP.

Online when contacted with spokesperson of CTP, he said that only LEA can use the blue light revolving vehicles adding that stern action would be taken against violators.
