ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan told journalists on Friday that no matter what happens, he will take the Panamagate case to its logical end.
In light of the incumbent chief justice’s retirement at the end of 2016, the Panamagate case was adjourned till January – to be heard again under a new bench.
Speaking to journalists, Khan expressed hopes that the same bench would resume hearing the case in the first week of January. He reiterated his stance that a commission was not needed in the case.
Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed – conceding to Khan’s stance – said that so far all the commissions formed for the purpose had not met the public’s expectations.
“The Panamagate case would decide if there are laws for the rich and powerful as well,” the PTI chief said.
Khan further said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had claimed that all the documents regarding his finances were available but his counsel told a different story to the court – that he is unable to locate the old documents.
