LAHORE: Several educational institutions of the city Friday marked anti-corruption day.
Loads of universities, colleges and schools organised walks, seminars and debating competition to raise awareness among students, faculty and other staff. In this connection, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) organised a debating competition. Speaking on the occasion, Student Affairs Director Prof Dr Asif Ali Qaiser said that zero tolerance would be shown against corruption and malpractices.
“This approach the will definitely help eliminate corruption at large,” he said, adding that corruption is a major problem which can be resolved by collective efforts. “It would be our aim to transform corruption-free Pakistan to the next generation who will feel proud and deliver in their respective domains.” Other student speakers while delivering speech also focused to extend anti-corruption environment.
Similarlu, the Virtual University of Pakistan in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) organised an awareness walk to mark the anti-corruption day.
The walk was led by VU’s Character Building Society members and campus management. The participants were carrying posters inscribed with anti-corruption slogans.
The rally in Lahore was followed by a talk session, where students pledged play their due role against corruption and malpractices.
On this occasion, debates, seminar and pamphlets carrying anti-corruption messages were also distributed in various VU campuses across the country.
