MORO: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Zardari on Saturday bashed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and said PTI Chairman Imran Khan will never give party tickets to those who left the PPP, Kaptaan has joined hands with these elements just for the sake of photo session.

Former PPP ministers Firdous Ashiq Awan, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Safdar Warraich, Dr Babar Awan and Noor Alam Khan recently parted ways with the PPP to join the PTI. The former president said Nawaz Sharif would not have become the prime minister if the PPP did not amend the constitution.  He claimed that his party will win the next general elections and come into power. “Nawaz Sharif would have managed to only become the president, said Zardari. Zardari said this while addressing a political convention at Moro, Sindh. He was of the view that “politics required farseeing and decisions that impose long lasting impacts”. Zardari said the country’s foreign policy has weakened a lot, and Nawaz Sharif is losing the diplomatic as well as the democratic battle. He taunted the premier and said Nawaz went to the National Assembly four times in four years. Even former PM Muhammad Khan Junejo attended more sessions than Nawaz, remarked Zardari. Talking about the Kashmir issue, the former president said, “Kashmir is our issue and the issue was close to nation’s heart.” Highlighting PPP’s role in building Pak-China friendship, he said, “Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the one who laid the foundation of the friendship between Beijing and Islamabad and further strengthened the friendship and maintained that now we are reaping fruit from it.”
