KARACHI: Denmark held a large public festival that showcased Denmark’s track record of development and trade, including innovation at the ‘DK in PK’ event organised by Denmark Embassy in Pakistan.
The event provided solutions for issues such as green growth, development, peace and stabilisation, and ‘smart city’ planning. Denmark is globally recognised for dealing with such problems.
Danish International Development Agency’s (DANIDA) local partners also showcased their work and contribution in Pakistan, which primarily focused on promoting gender equality, democracy, human rights and culture.
Many of the Danish companies operating in Pakistan also showed their contributions to the country. Addressing the large number of guests, Danish Ambassador Ole Thonke gave a speech about the growing relations between Denmark and Pakistan.
Talking about ‘DK in PK’ ambassador Thonke said, “The initiative is aimed at organising cultural events to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. To have an event in a city – Karachi – which is the economic hub of Pakistan will help in promoting economic activities too.”
The event was attended by hundreds of people, who not only to learned Danish expertise, but also enjoyed Danish food and music performances.
