Convocations of Bahria University and PN School of Logistics held

ISLAMABAD: The 13th Convocation of Bahria University Karachi Campus and 7th Convocation of Pakistan Navy School of Logistics were held at Bahria University.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah graced the ceremony as the chief guest and conferred degrees on the graduating students of PhD, postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.

In total 866 degrees were awarded to the undergraduate and graduate students of management sciences, humanities and social sciences, computer sciences, earth and environmental sciences, electrical engineering, software engineering and professional psychology of Bahria University, while 35 degrees were awarded to students of BS-supply chain management from Pakistan Navy School of Logistics.

During the ceremony, the admiral awarded 32 gold medals and 23 silver medals to various students who topped their respective programmes.

Dr Amir Manzoor was awarded the PhD degree in the discipline of Management Sciences from Bahria University Karachi Campus.

Addressing on the occasion, Pro-Chancellor of Bahria University Admiral Zakaullah congratulated the graduating students on their splendid success and lauded Bahria University Karachi Campus and Pakistan Navy School of Logistics for providing exceptional knowledge skills to the graduated students in their respective disciplines that will enable them to lead a professionally rewarding life. He said that the role of universities and institutions has gained significant importance to help impart the requisite education and fostering competencies to make them better and productive citizen. He said that new endeavours undertaken by the management of Bahria University with commitment and determination will yield the best results for all the stakeholders and will definitely provide competitive edge to Bahria University to become the leading University of the country. He expressed pleasure to see quite a good number of graduates in varied academic disciplines being produced by Bahria University and said the conferment of PhD scholars of Karachi Campus getting the degree proves that the management of Bahria University is fully aware about the importance of research.

Earlier, in his welcome address BU Rector Vice Admiral (r) Tanveer Faiz mentioned efforts of the university for providing the most conducive academic environment, state-of-the art labs and highly qualified faculty for its postgraduate and undergraduate students. Moreover, in order to remain at par to meet requirement of modern education continuous reviewing of curricula is conducted along with new initiatives such as start of PhD in geophysics, MS in project management, supply chain management and various other disciplines.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior naval officers, industrialists, businessmen, and parents of the graduating students.
