Dadu Police on Tuesday arrested a suspect for allegedly blackmailing people through a fake social media account.
According to details, Advocate Adnan Jamali used a fake Facebook ID for blackmail and extortion. The suspect has been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after registration a case against him under cybercrimes law.
Earlier, Bakhsal Jamali and Shahbaz Jamali had registered a complaint with Dadu Town Police against Adnan Jamali, accusing him of using a fake Facebook account under the name of Marvi Khokhar to blackmail them. Dadu Police registered an FIR against Adnan Jamali and arrested him over charges of blackmailing people.
Head-constable Khuda Bux Panhwar said that an FIR had been registered against Adnan Jamali under 21,15,16,20 Cyber Crime Act, 25 D and 25 C Telegraph Act. He said that the arrested person was handed over to FIA Hyderabad deputy director for further investigation.
