LAHORE: Eid Miladun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) will be celebrated across the provincial capital and the country with religious fervour today (Monday).
Buildings, mosques, public markets, shopping malls and houses have been tastefully festooned with colourful lights and green flags for the occasion.
Processions will be taken out and Milad gatherings will be held to mark the occasion. Main procession will be taken out from the Railway Station, which will pass through its traditional routes, including Austraila Chowk, Gawalmandi, Anarkali, Mochi Gate, Bhatti Chowk and Data Ganj Bakhsh.
Speakers at the gathering will shed light on the Holy Prophet’s life and teachings. They will exhort upon people to mould their lives in accordance with Seeratun Nabi (PBUH).
In this connection, stalls will be set up for free distribution of food among visitors by local residents and traders of Icchra Market.
The government has already declared a public holiday for the occasion. As many as 40 cinema houses and theatres will be closed as per the notification issued by the City District Government Lahore. All educational institutions and offices will also remain closed.
For the purpose, a two-day International Biography conference tilled Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) Conference has been arranged under the aegis of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony in the metropolis in which scholars and representatives from different sects would participate.
Meanwhile, children were also seen busy in collecting charity for the preparations in connection with the Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH).
