ISLAMABAD: To increase the pension of the deceased judges, the government would introduce the 25th constitutional amendment in the National Assembly (NA) tomorrow (Wednesday).

The NA would meet at 4pm. The session would continue for two weeks and the schedule would be finalised in a meeting of House Business Advisory Committee.

“The widow of a Supreme Court judge shall be entitled to a pension of 75 percent under this amendment. At present if the judge dies after the retirement, 50 percent of the net pension is payable to her.”

Sources told Daily Times the opposition would raise the PIA plane crash. They added that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf members will also attend the session after over three months.

PML-N lawmaker Khalida Mansoor would raise the issue of non-availability of life-saving drugs in the country, particularly in Islamabad.

The law minister would present the Central Law Officers Amendment Bill 2016 for approval while reports of various standing committees will also be tabled.
