Jhang pays heavy price for ousting PML-N govt

Author: Staff Report

JHANG: The PML-N-led federal government is punishing Jhang for its defeat in by-elections in PP-76 as they increased load shedding in the city to almost 12 hours per day.

Electricity was restored here at 2200 hours in the night, due to which people’s business and agricultural activities in the city were severely hampered. The owners of shops had no choice but to let go of their staff. Because of this, the rate of unemployment and street crime is increasing day by day manifold in Jhang.

Due to unavailability of electricity, cases lie pending in the courts as the judges are unable to make decisions as computers installed in the courts are not working. When this scribe contacted an official of the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), he said that the government has diverted electricity to the industry of Faisalabad.

In the past, the police station of Jhang was located in Faisalabad, but after giving Jhang the status of Tehsil, Faisalabad had developed into a modern city, but Jhang had been left to ruin, forcing people to leave. In the by-election, the PML-N candidate was defeated by an overwhelming majority by Masroor Jhangvi, the son of founder of banned Sippah Sahaba Haq Nawaz Jhangvi.
