Must-have summer fashion accessories

Author: Zaresh Ernest

This is more than just a nice sun block and a pair of sunnies suggestion list. We bring to you some essential items to rock the hot summers in style. From fashion to skin to beverages, we have got it all covered.

STRAW BAGS — be it a tote, a satchel or a clutch, straw bags give us the ultimate summer-y feels. You can tie a bright scarf around it to add a pop of colour. These bags remind us of our last best beach vacation. Straw bags can go with any colour or costume. This accessory is #1 in our list of must haves this summer.

HAIR FASHION — it is that time of the year when you want your hair off your face. Head bands, chunky Swarovski, sequins or pearl pins are also another way to pin back you hair in style. Get rid of boring ponytails and add more texture and braids to your regular look.

FLOWERS — floral bags, floral dresses, floral scarves, floral bedsheets, floral everything! Bring back colours in your life with funky floral prints.

FLIP FLOPS — buy easy and airy shoes as ‘them toes need some air’! It is time to bring out peep toes and strap on sandals and also, shamelessly sport some Havana flip-flops too if you have to. It’s all about comfort during summers. Flaunt your French manicured feet in flip flops.

LIGHT FABRICS — choose breathable fabrics and avoid silks and georgettes. Pick fabrics that don’t make you sweat. Plain, soft, flowy and light fabrics are a need in summer. Hand woven fabrics are also a good choice. The lighter the fabric, the less you perspire.

WHITE SHIRTS — stock up on a variety of plain white shirts that include white kurta tops, white chiffon shirts, white button down shirts and a white T shirt. You can never really have enough white options during summer. Pair your tops with sky blue denim jeans or wide bottom cotton pants or even Capri pants.

FACE MIST — there’s a wide range of mists available in the market. You can even make your own little spray bottle of spray-on-face-mist at home. Some rose water, aloe vera gel, witch hazel and a few drops of tea tree oil is all that you need to create a face mist. Place the bottle in the fridge and spray it on to your face to keep it fresh and hydrated during the summer heat. This ingredient will not only freshen you up, it’ll also leave your skin feeling clearer and tighter.

MAKE ‘DEO’ A FRIEND — after a nice cool shower, slap on some roll on deodorant and even carry perfumes and deodorants in your bag to make it comfortable for yourself and the people around you. ‘You always smell so good’ is one of the best compliments one can ever receive. Smelling fresh during summer’s a priority.

SMOOTHIE MAKER — Bullet Blenders have been such a trend since the past few years as more and more people are getting weight conscious with time. Bullet Blenders are quick smoothie makers. You can make a glass full of nutrition in just a matter of seconds. Smoothies and fresh juices is a nice habit to catch on keeping you in shape and also hydrated during the merciless summer.
