‘Philanthropists must contribute to happiness of special persons’

The whole month of Ramadan ul Mubarak is considered as month of blessings and fasting and it remembers the rights of destitute people mainly disabled persons living in our surrounding areas. Since special people are needier and more deserving, many philanthropists and organizations remain engage in several activities to help out the destitute so that they could also keep fasting and celebrate Eidul Fitr with their loved ones.

In light of Eidul Fitr, an elegant program was convened by Agha Munir Pathan, the chairman Special Peoples Foundation Shikarpur, to distribute Eid gifts including clothes, dates, shoes, Sindhi Topi and other necessary items amongst the special peoples of Shikarpur, held at Gymkhana Shikarpur.

Iqbal Detho, famous human rights activist, was chief guest in the program.

Programme held to distribute Eid gifts among the destitute and special persons

Speaking on the occasion, Agha said that special people are more needy and deserving in comparison to common man and expressed his pleasure over distributing Eid gifts over self help basis amongst the special people. He highlighted the issues of special people and demanded that when special people, who is already deprived from one leg, right or left, is forced to buy a pair of shoes in the condition when he does not need the other one. In this regard, the government of Sindh or companies who make shoes may be bound to sell one piece of pair of shoes to special persons on half price because other piece is useless for him/her.

Iqbal Detho, the chief guest, appreciated the tremendous efforts of foundation in arranging an elegant program and urged upon the foundation to complete the survey of special persons living in Shikarpur district so that they could be linked with Sindh disability forum for the welfare of the special people of Shikarpur.

Mr Dethoalso urged the Zakat & Usher department Shikarpur to issue cards in favour of special people so that they could get financial benefits with further ado because it is their fundamental right and also announced for his every sort of support.

A large number of journalists, people belonging to different walk of life including Waheed Phulpoto, Khalid Soomro, Ali Shah, Sultan Rind, Abdul Khalique Soomro, Agha Babar, Zahid Noon, Ayaz Mangi, Deedar Soomro, Rahmatullah Soomro, Aftab Ali Mirani, the president special people and several others participated in the program and acclaimed the efforts of foundation chairman, who every year arranges a program for needy and deserving persons.
