Stop cutting forest

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Forest cutting is rapidly increasing in our country. The importance of forests cannot be underestimated as we do as a nation.

Naturally, our dependency is on forests for our survival as trees are the only source as oxygen-provider on this planet. Besides providing habitats for animals and livelihoods for humans, forests also offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change. Forests provide water storage, dictate weather patterns and, critically, act as the planet’s lungs by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere through photosynthesis.

I request to the government that cutting forest should be stop.
