Youngster shot dead over enmity

RAWALPINDI: A youngster was shot dead in Kotli Sattian Police precinct on Saturday.

According to police, Akmal was shot dead by gunmen as he was returning home. “Akmal was returning home along with his uncle Sajid Mehmood and cousin Safeer on a motorcycle. They were intercepted by Tahir and Mukhtar, who fired shots at them. Akmal received several bullet wounds. He was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The gunmen fled,” police said. Sajid and Safeer later told police that the accused Tahir and Mukhtar had a dispute with them. Police said they had registered an FIR and were investigating.

17-year-old killed in a road accident: A 17-year-old boy died in a road accident in Rawalpindi on Saturday. According to details, Nabeel, a resident of Bahtar village, was on his way back home from the nearby Mughal Village on a motorbike. “His motorcycle slipped at Sarja due to over-speeding.

He fell down on the road and sustained severe head injuries. He was taken to Rawalpindi District Hospital where he was pronounced dead,” police said. His body was later handed over to his family.

Robberies: Pirwadhai Police on Saturday arrested a man allegedly involved in 60 robberies in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

According to details, the Pirwadhai SHO said that a police squad had been set up for checking robbery incidents.

“The police team arrested Ahsan Manzoor. He belongs to Lahore and is residing in Rawalpindi in his aunt’s house,” the SHO said.

The SHO said that the alleged suspect had confessed to his involvement in more than 60 robberies in the twin cities. “His father is a sub-inspector in Lahore police,” he said. The SHO said that the suspect used to commit robberies alone and had snatched valuables, cash and mobile phones worth millions of rupees from the citizens.

Four women abducted: Four women were allegedly abducted on Saturday in two separate incidents. Shaukat, a resident of Karachi Company, lodged a complaint with the local police, stating that kidnappers had abducted his daughter and two of her friends from G-8/2. He suspected that Atif, Hanif, Sultan, Amjad and Shakeel could be behind the kidnappings.

Police have registered a case and started an investigation. They later arrested Atif.

Another girl was allegedly abducted from Taxila Police precincts. The father of abducted girl lodged a complaint with police, stating that Rehman, Zakria, Waheed, Meena and Basna had abducted his daughter. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
