NAB board approves more graft references

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday approved filing of corruption references against former Press Information Department (PID) director general Chaudhary Rasheed Ahmad and former Bank of Punjab president Naeemuddin Khan for misuse of powers. The decision was taken during NAB’s Executive Board meeting held in Islamabad, which was chaired by Justice (r) Javed Iqbal.

The bureau approved filing corruption reference against Chaudhary Rasheed Ahmad for attempting to cause damages worth Rs 28.5 million to the national exchequer.

The board also accorded approval to launching a corruption reference against Bank of Punjab’s former president Naeemuddin Khan for being involved in insider trading in sale and purchase of bank shares and thus causing a loss of Rs 10.38 million to the exchequer.
