Stop befooling the people: Ahsan Iqbal

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday said that Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was fooling the people in the name of southern Punjab.

He was reacting to a news conference in which Qureshi had spoken about the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government moving a bill in the National Assembly for the formation of southern Punjab province. In that news conference, Qureshi said some members of the PML-N were “stuck” on the bill they had presented in the past.

Ahsan Iqbal said the PML-N had already presented a bill in the National Assembly for the formation of southern Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces, and added that the bill was opposed by the PTI.

He said the PML-N’s bill was already with the standing committee, and urged Qureshi to look into the matter immediately.

“Rather than bringing a new bill for formation of new provinces the Pakistan, the Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government should speed up the work on pending bills,” he added.”PML-N is the only party that fulfills its promises with the masses,” he said.
