After horrific incident of cylinder explosion in commuter wagon which claimed at least five precious lives of passengers and caused grave burnt injuries besides Toll Plaza Kashmore, Waseem Memon, the secretary Regional Transport, checked public transport vehicles and removed at least 12 CNG cylinders and fined one passenger vehicle, here on Wednesday.
All the public transport vehicles remained invisible from their route to avoid fine. while speaking with the media, Waseem Memon expressed great concerns regarding horrific incident of cylinder explosion next to Kashmore district and said that transport department has already initiated campaign against CNG cylinders and has removed at least 200 CNG cylinders and recovered Rs.0.2 millions.
Keeping an eye over terrible incident, strict action will be taken against transporters in accordance with the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan and direction issued by Deputy Commissioner Shikarpur Rahim Bux Maitlo to avoid further loss of precious lives; adding, in this regard transporters must cooperate with transport department for the larger interests of the people of Sindh.
It is worthwhile to mention here that a CNG cylinder exploded in passenger wagon in Kashmore in which at least five persons including three women and a baby girl lost their precious lives and three others sustained burnt injuries in cylinder blast.
