KARACHI: A new UBL head office was inaugurated by Sheikh NahayanMabarak Al Nahayan, minister of culture and knowledge development, UAE.
Ashraf Mahmood Wathra, governor, State Bank of Pakistan was also present along with Sir Mohammed Anwar Pervez, OBE, HPk, chairman of the board of directors of UBL and Bestway Group UK, Zameer Mohammed Choudrey, CBE, Director UBL and Wajahat Husain, president and CEO, UBL.
The new head office is located on II Chundrigar Road in the heart of Karachi’s vibrant financial district. Rising 300 feet in the sky, this 22-storey skyscraper features state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology enclosed within a modern design. The 200 feet tall atrium of this building is the tallest enclosed space of its kind in Pakistan and its unique advanced facade lighting illuminates the city skyline at night, further highlighting Karachi’s identity as ‘the city of lights’.
Speaking on the occasion, Wajahat Husain said, “UBL, Pakistan’s Best Bank 2016, has come to be acknowledged as a Progressive and Innovative bank. These two attributes of the Bank have propelled the institution in taking lead in financial inclusion and economic development of Pakistan. UBL’s new Head Office building is a dynamic symbol of the transformation that UBL has undergone in the last 14 years and stands tall as a physical embodiment of our role as leaders in the financial services sector of Pakistan.”
