Author: News Desk

Lahore High Court (LHC), on Tuesday, heard the petition filed against the recent hike in prices of petroleum products. Justice Shahid Jameel took the appeal filed by a resident against the price hike. Issuing interim order on the plea, the court summoned the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials on May 24 along with the relevant record. The petition stated that despite decrease in the prices of petroleum products in the global market, the federal government had increased fuel prices. The government has already been charging tax on petroleum products, which is taking a heavy toll on consumers, the applicant added.
