ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister (PM) House on Tuesday firmly denied the comments made by General (r) Pervaiz Musharraf regarding his alleged differences with the prime minister.
In a statement, a spokesperson of the PM office termed the statement as utterly baseless, cruel and untrue.
Musharraf, in an interview, had said that differences between them began with when the PM Nawaz Sharif told him to remove two serving Major Generals under his command. The spokesman said that no such issue was discussed between them.
In an interview with a private news channel, Musharraf had thanked General (r) Raheel Sharif for his help and said that he had also served as the Chief of Army Staff and as General (r) Raheel’s boss.
“This is why he helped me,” Musharraf said.
According to Musharraf, political cases were lodged against him and his name was placed in the exit control list (ECL). Responding to a question, Musharraf said, “The courts give verdicts under pressure. The former army chief helped reduce that pressure.”
