Dengue claims another life, 47 new cases surface

An elderly woman died of dengue fever at a private hospital of the city. The 61-year old woman, Bilquis Begum, a resident of Pipri, Ameer Bux village, Bin Qasim Town, Malir, was admitted to a private hospital few days ago with high grade fever, nose bleeds and headache.

She died due to dengue fever during treatment. The Sindh Dengue Prevention and Control Programme spokesman confirmed the death of the woman from dengue fever in Karachi.

He said that a total of two people had died from dengue fever in the city this year so far. As many as 44 more dengue fever cases emerged in Karachi in a week, taking the total number of cases to 463 since January 1, 2019.

According to the weekly report issued by Sindh PCPD, at least 47 new dengue fever cases were reported across the Sindh province in a week.
