Hania Amir tells a tale of her skin condition & the idealistic, compelling beauty-norms in the society

Author: Web Desk

Recently, Hania Amir the Pakistani dimpled-actress posted a very realistic, makeup-free picture of herself to her Instagram along with a very thought provoking caption. The young actress was pretty troubled by the condition of her acne prone skin, but the picture was to break off the misconceptions in the minds of the general audience-that the glamorous stars aren’t always perfect.

“So I have always struggled with mild acne. Always had these bumps on my forehead that JUST WOULD NOT BUDGE! I had gotten used to them. But the journey I have been on for a couple of months has been quite a painful one” states Hania.

“I’d just come back to Chitral from a day trip to Kalash and after I had washed my face it started to burn and my skin went red. Didn’t take it seriously but the next day I had these tiny red bumps ALL OVER MY FACE.I freaked out but didn’t let it get the best of me because I was at work. They would show on camera, everybody started to ask me, started with the totkas and then came the anxiety” further explaining how anxiety and insecurity can get the best of us sometimes.

“After three months back it started to act up again and it was even worse this time! I kept it clean, toned, used creams and dermatologists… everything! Nothing seemed to fix my skin and I had my night AND days of crying. Feeling insecure. Anxiety. Makeup wouldn’t help.

Her skin became better after she met a dermatologist, but it all led the actress to question the beauty norms and standards the society has set for us all.

“It made me wonder. Why is my skin defining me? Who has made these beauty standards that we always feel the need to match? The society? Clear skin is beauty? I know that the idea of being “perfect” is appealing to majority but you don’t need to be an airbrushed flawless image to feel beautiful”

Making a very grounded yet an unpopular opinion.

Leaving a special message for her fans, Hania Amir concluded:
Nobody should feel the pressure of matching the ridiculous societal beauty standards. Have your own. Beauty is within and anybody who makes you feel small because of what you LOOK like shouldn’t be around you!

A few months ago, the world famous Socialite and business woman Kim Kardashian announced a jaw dropping revelation about her skin condition. She posted a bare-face morning selfie for her Instagram where the model showed her face affected by psoriasis, which is a common skin condition that speeds up the life cycle of skin cells. It causes cells to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin. The extra skin cells form scales and red patches that are itchy and sometimes painful. Psoriasis is a chronic disease that often comes and goes. The 38 year old Kim’s intention was to educate the masses about the things celebrities secretly go through. While most celebs would still not talk about such issues publically, to keep their unrealistic image intact- Kim still went ahead and took that daring step to expose how even celebrities are very human, with very human problems in life.
