ISLAMABAD: The deployment of 15 armed security guards on the main highway near the Saudi Pak Tower, for the security of Chinese nationals working in multinational companies, has started causing concern among the citizens.
Well-placed sources told Daily Times that as many as 15 armed guards of a local security company were performing their duty during day time and four security guards during night time around the main highway at the Saudi Pak Tower signal.
These security guards have been appointed for the security of Chinese men and women working in a multinational company located at the Saudi Pak Tower.
These guards come out of the Saudi Pak Tower and head towards their mess operating in a bungalow situated at Nazimud Din Road for dining in day time.
When the security guards come to their duty place equipped with arms, a wave of panic grips the citizens, passers by and particularly those driving in cars.
On the other side these security guards are seen controlling vehicular traffic like a traffic warden. When Chinese nationals leave the Saudi Pak Tower and reach the main signal on their way to the mess, these armed security guards are seen pushing the passersby forcibly in an insulting manner.
When contacted, the SP City, Sheikh Zubair Ahmad, told Daily Times that the induction of security guards of a private security company for the safety of Chinese nationalswas a laudable move. It should be appreciated. Chinese nationals are working in other towers located in the areas close to the Saudi Pak tower and their security was also a must.
