In another win for the producers of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued a stay order against the producer of the original ‘Maula Jatt’.

In an ongoing legal battle that has taken many dramatic turns, SHC has issued a stay order against Sarwar Bhatti, Muhammad Bahoo Sarwar and Muttaqi Sarwar restraining them from defaming ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ and its makers Bilal Lashari and Ammara Hikmat.

This order was issued by the SHC after Lahore High Court cleared that there is no stay order on ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ but still the other party did not refrain from its defamatory campaign. Therefore a case was filed in the SHC, under its civil jurisdiction before Justice Junaid Ghaffar which resulted in a gag order on the party making misleading and malicious claims about ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’.

Sarwar Bhatti was recently accused of not being the sole owner of Bahoo Corporation to begin with and for causing frivolous litigation regarding the title, name and origin of ‘Maula Jatt’. This order has come to light stopping the Bhatti clan from defaming ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ any further whose release date is to be announced soon.

‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ is an upcoming Pakistani action drama film directed and written by Bilal Lashari and produced by Ammara Hikmat under production banner of Encyclomedia.

It is a remake of the 1979 cult classic ‘Maula Jatt’ and stars Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi in lead roles along with Mahira Khan and Humaima Malik.

The original release date of the film was Eidul Fitr 2019, before being delayed for strategic reasons, the film is set to release in China on the same day with its domestic release.

The film is also the most expensive Pakistani film to date.
