Celebrities have often come under fire for hosting Ramazan transmissions.
However, actor Ahsan Khan, who is hosting a Ramazan show on TV this year, has come out to defend celebrities hosting Ramazan transmissions.
“I am a Muslim and I have a right to question and nobody can take my right away,” he said.
“If I’m questioning the scholars on television while conducting this show or for that matter anybody who has an interest in doing so should not be stopped, should rather be invited to gain knowledge,” he further said.
Ahsan Khan said that he has been doing Ramazan shows since last five years and it has had a very positive impact on him. The actor said that he got to learn so much about Islam through his show.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution banning celebrities to host Ramazan transmission.
A resolution seeking a ban on celebrities hosting Ramazan transmissions was submitted in the Punjab Assembly last week by Pakistan Rah-e-Haq party’s parliamentary leader Maulana Muhammad Muavia Azam.
