Zardari’s arrival: Alternative routes for citizens heading towards airport

KARACHI: The Karachi Traffic Police has advised citizens to adopt alternative routes instead of Shahrah-e-Faisal for reaching the airport ahead of PPP Co-chairperson Asif Zardari’s arrival in Karachi. The decision has been taken keeping in mind that the road would likely be blocked due to rallies.

In light of this information, the people of Defence and Clifton traveling to the airport would have to use the alternative route that passes through Hino Chorangi, Korangi Industrial Area Road, Murtaza Chowrangi, Malir Halt and Model Colony and then airport.

The traffic from Liaquatabad and Gulshan Iqbal areas heading towards airport have been advised to use the route that passes through University Road, Safoora and Malir Cantonment.

Alternative routes for the visitors of hospitals have also been announced. The travelers heading towards Ziauddin Hospital have been advised to use Sea View Road and China Chowrangi while Bahria underpass is advised for people planning to visit South City Hospital.

The residents of DHA and Clifton travelling to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre have been asked to use Chaudhary Khaleequz Zaman Road.

Visitors of Liaquat National Hospital and Aga Khan University Hospital have been advised to use University Road and then take Stadium Road.

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to use Jinnah Bridge to Sunset Boulevard, Punjab Colony, Korangi Road. Instead they have to use Maripur Road to Northern Bypass. Similarly, heavy vehicles from National Highway will not be allowed to move towards Korangi Industrial Area Road.

Citizens have also been advised to avoid parking on roads.
