KARACHI: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday commented on the raid on Anwar Majeed’s house carried out by law enforcement agencies earlier today.
Speaking to media during a visit to Mazar-e-Quaid, Zardari said he had relations with Anwar Majeed. The former president said, “Yes I have relations with Anwar Majeed. As for what happened with him and why it happened, ask the Interior Minister about it.”
Zardari said he was undergoing medical treatment in London and had travelled to Pakistan after permission from doctors.
The PPP co-chairman said he would elaborate on his party’s four demands on December 27.
He said he was certain that Dr Asim would get justice, adding that he was in contact with Dr Asim and his lawyers.
Zardari also talked about how Pakistan would strengthen from today onwards and requested all to always remain optimistic.
Earlier, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) conducted a raid at the house of Zardari’s close aide Anwar Majeed in Defence Housing Authority Phase 8 area in the early hours of Sunday.
According to LEA officials, a huge cache of arms were recovered from the house. Two security guards present at the residence were also taken into custody.
