Currently as well, Zafar Mairaj has a play running on air titled ‘Inkaar’ based on the theme of sexual harassment and consent.
Besides Yumna Zaidi, Sami Khan, Imran Ashraf, Munazah Arif, Rehan Shekh and other celebrated actors, ‘Inkaar’ also casts Ali Tahir, who is acting for the first time in a Mairaj serial. Ali Tahir is playing the role of a lawyer in the serial, who has not yet made his appearance but will do so in the coming episodes.
“It is when the harasser, Rehan Chaudhry played by Imran Ashraf will get into a legal mess that my character will be introduced. I’ll be playing a lawyer on the bad side, since in the story, I’ll be hired by Chaudhry’s family to win the case. It’s quite a negative character yet of an extremely sharp lawyer and my first experience of playing a character written by Mairaj, who has penned down a very good script,” Tahir said.

From among the modern writers, Tahir has worked with Saji Gul, Umera Ahmad, Shahid Nizami and Faseeh Bari Khan, but had not collaborated with Mairaj on any point up until now. The serial has been directed by Kashif Nisar, whose choice of actors has always been apt, such as in ‘Ranjha Ranjha Kardi’, ‘O Rangreza’, ‘Lashkara’, ‘Darr Si Jati Hai Sila’ and ‘Sannata’, and it’s hoped that this time as well, the actors chosen will finely fit their respective roles.
