OIC confers award to Chairman Ulema Council Tahir Ashrafi

Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) conferred universal award for Hafiz Muhammed Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council (UAE) for his struggle against the menace of terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence from Pakistan and Muslim world.

A special ceremony was arranged here on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi (UAE), in which UAE Minister for Tolerance & Harmony Al-Sheikh Al-Nehan Al-Mubarak and Secretary General OIC Dr. Yusuf Ahmed Al-Asmeen conferred Universal Award for Hafiz Muhammed Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi. The ceremony was attended by delegates of 57 Islamic countries including renowned Islamic Scholar Dr. Abdullah bin Beha and ambassadors of Muslim countries in UAE. Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary General OIC Dr Yusuf Ahmed Al-Asmeen lauded services and struggle of Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi against the menace of extremism and terrorism. He stated that Hafiz Muhammed Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has always represented Islam and Islamic teachings at every forum with real spirits of Quran-o-Sunnah. For eradication of terrorism and extremism from Muslim world, services of Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi are very important and OIC has conferred special award for Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi as acknowledgement of these services.

Speaking on this occasion, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi stated that it is honor for him and announced to dedicate the award for continued struggle of Ulemas and Mashaykh of Pakistan. He reiterated effective struggle for annihilation of terrorism and extremism from Pakistan and Muslim world. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi also announced that he dedicated the award to the struggle of Pak-Force against terrorism and to the martyrs of Pak-Force and people of Pakistan. He also pointed out that the entire world is acknowledging struggle of Pakistan and security forces of Pakistan against the menace of terrorism and extremism. He urged on the leadership of Muslim Ummah to get united to defeat this menace from Islamic world.
