Pledge against Tobacco Consumption officially launched the music video of their song “Aadat Torr, Cigarette Chorr” on Tuesday at National Saving Centre. Performed by Ahmed Jahanzaib and produced by Shallum Xavier, the song marks the beginning of PACT’s anti-smoking movement. Hosted by Shoaib Durrani, the launch of “Aadat Torr Cigarette Chorr” started off with a panel discussion addressing key issues including the agenda of tobacco companies, government’s current stance on tobacco and what is expected from the new budget. Panellists included Malik Imran, Member of Provincial Assembly Arsalan Ali Taj, Shariq Khan, Ahmed Jahanzaib and Shallum Xavier. The event was attended by Faysal Quraishi, Abbas Ali Khan, Kashan Admani, Aijaz Aslam, Munazah Ebrahim, Kiran Khan, Uzma Khanji, Omair Laghari and Junaid Akram. On being asked the reason behind creating PACT, Shariq Khan commented, “Tobacco companies only care about profits and are always on the lookout to create new smokers out of children. PACT is my war cry against these guys.”
