An anti–narcotics court issued notices to Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi and his kin on the seizure of assets in the ephedrine quota case in which he is entangled.
Judge Sardar Akram presided over the hearing on Wednesday and granted Hanif and his kin till May 11 to submit a response.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) had suspended Abbasi’s life imprisonment sentence in the ephedrine quota case on April 11 and ordered his release on bail.
Abbasi received a conviction just four days ahead of the 2018 general election by an anti –narcotics court for selling 500 kg of controlled chemical ephedrine .Seven other accused in the case got acquitted after being given the benefit of doubt .
