KARACHI: Pakistan’s professional boxer Mohammad Waseem is all set to return to the boxing ring this year with his comeback bout scheduled to be held in June. The 31-year-old boxer from Quetta told media Monday that his next fight was scheduled to be held on June 22nd and the opponent would be finalized later this month. Waseem, one of the best boxers produced by Pakistan, was last seen in action in June 2018 when he went down against South African Moruti Mthalane. Since then, Waseem has been out of action. Earlier this year he signed a three-year contract with new promoters MTK Global and earlier this month he flew to Scotland where he’s training with Danny Vaughan in Glasgow. “I am working hard for my next fight,” Waseem said. “I urge everyone in Pakistan to support me this fight is very important for me. I am working hard in training camp in Scotland,” he said while adding that he’ll contest for WBC flyweight world title this year as well. He had earlier won WBC Silver Flyweight title in 2016, in his 4th professional fight. Waseem has an impressive record of 8-1 in 9 professional bouts he has contested so far. He has also won several medals for country as an amateur boxer before turning pro in 2015.
