Standing committee visits offices of Information Department

PESHAWAR: The Members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Information and Public Relations led by Chairman ZiaUllah Khan Bangash visited offices of Information Department Peshawar on Wednesday. Besides members of the committee Saleh Khan and Mehmood Ahmad Khan, Secretary Information Tahir Hassan, Additional Secretary Information Bashir Khan, Director Information Shuaibuddin, Deputy Secretary Assembly Naeem Khan, AD Inamullah and other officers were present on the occasion. The committee during visit of Information Department appraised itself of the problems, working procedures and needs of the department in detail. Committee Chairman ZiaullahBangash while expressing himself on the occasion said that Information is a very important department which plays a role of bridge between government and people therefore it is need of the day to provide it all main facilities. He said soon a suitable place for offices would be provided to the department. He said it would be recommended to the government to give back to the department all those vehicles that had been taken from it. However he stressed that the department would have to improve its performance by benefitting from new technology. On the occasion members of the committee also visited ITLA’A Cell of the department where the members were apprised about the perception of media regarding different departments in which the members took keen interest. Later on members of the committee visited Radio Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar. The delegation was informed that after two FM channels in the province, three new FM channels were being established at Abbottabad, Kohat and Swat. Station Director Firdos Khan and producer HaroonDaudzai, on the occasion, informed the delegation about the performance of different sections of radio channel.
