In order to build strong bilateral ties, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will visit Japan from April 21 for four days.
Qureshi will be visiting Tokyo at the invitation of the Japanese counterpart. According to the Foreign, Office talks will be held with Taro Kono and other dignitaries.
The official spokesperson said that the foreign minister will interact with the Pakistani community and leading media houses in Japan. He will also hold meetings with Japanese intellectuals, academicians and business persons at the Japan Institute of International Affairs.
The notification issued by the FO stated, “The official visit will help further deepen our friendly ties and advance mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields.”
Qureshi will aim to persuade the Japanese leadership to make more investment in Pakistan. Talks will be held on the regional security situation, Pakistan-India tension and the situation in Afghanistan.
Earlier, the foreign minister was scheduled to visit Japan in February but because of the border tensions between Pakistan and India, the visit was postponed.
