Rangers’ annual performance report reveals decrease in crime

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) issued their performance report for the year 2016.

According to the report, 992 target operations were conducted, which resulted in the arrest of 2,847 criminals throughout the year. The arrested criminals also included 350 militants, belonging to banned organisations, and 87 members of Lyari gang war.

The report further stated that during the year, a clear decrease in various crimes was also observed, with 93 per cent decrease in extortion cases, 91 per cent decrease in target killings, 86 per cent decrease in kidnapping and 72 per cent decrease in terrorism incidents.
