BHC suspends ECP’s decision

Balochistan High Court suspended the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan in which Haji Muhammad Khan alias Toar Utmankhail, Member Balochistan Provincial Assembly was disqualified. Membership of Provincial Minister was restored and report was also sought from Election Commission. A bench of Balochistan High Court comprising Chief Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar and Justice Muhammad Ejaz Swati heard a constitutional petition filed by Haji Muhammad Khan alias Toar Utmankhail against the decision of Election Commission of Pakistan. He pleaded that as case pertaining to fake degree was before the sessions court; thus, decision of Election Commission was illegal. The bench, after initial hearing, suspended the decision of Election Commission and membership of Haji Muhammad Khan alias Toar Utmankhail was restored. Hearing of the case was adjourned until April 22.
